Lots of great places to eat. Took the Magnetic Island car ferry and spent a night there. Did a sunset wine sailboat cruise. Very memorable from Nelly Bay.

Fairly easy walk to the lovely Strand with multiple dining options and to the CBD and Cowboys Leagues Club which does a great steak and has affordable drinks. Love Townsville.

Love townsville, rate it better than Cairns, do yourself a favour and go for a trip over to Magnetic Island and hire a scooter for the day

Palmer Street in Townsville has alot of places to choose from all in walking distance. It's so convenient as a visitor. Many hotels and food outlets.

I regularly visit Tsv & it has changed since the 80s .. Nth Qld cities were much the same except places like Mount Isa had invested much mining and infrastructure in the region and this was a catalyst that in ten years would develop in a big way!

I am from Mount Isa and the greatest mine in history gave Townsville a gift (for it's own purpose) built and paid for the Port of Townsville a few decades ago. Also the inland rail network in Australia. The benefits are still being reaped today.
