Prior to our stay (5 rooms) Sam G, the GM not only confirmed via phone AND via email that 3 of my rooms would be upgraded complimentary. This was his offer, I did not ask for it. My call was to ask that all rooms be on the same floor. The day before arriving, I spoke with Sissy who also confirmed my three upgrades were still happening & we're all on the same floor. Upon arriving to check in, luck would have it that Sam was there to check me in so I was overjoyed to share my gratitude in person regarding his kind gesture of upgrades. His name tag now says Guest Expert, which is different from his email signature. He says that not only am I NOT getting upgraded but that my rooms ARE NOT on the same floor. I asked him why not because I take care of my elderly parents (1 who's terminally ill) & we MUST be together, never mind the upgrades at this point. He says verbatim "a soccer team showed up & they took precedence over you & needed it more than you because it's a lot of them." Mind you, they're not even paying a fraction of what I am because they've booked a lot of rooms. I work in hospitality so I know the process when booking a team. After going back & forth for what seemed like forever, he FINALLY gave in because I told him that I've never been bamboozled nor seen a bait & switch like this! We were all on the same floor near each other & only 1 room was upgraded. This would've never happened at a Ritz-Carlton or Marriott, which is where I usually stay but it was full.
