Apple Tree Inn

Perfect for our little getaway. Everything was in good condition. Only suggestion would be extra toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags.

There was an initial issue with the tap water so bottled water was provided, but the next day we were informed by text that there was NO running water. A later update indicated it couldn't be fixed until the next day so a refund for that night was offered. We accepted and received a credit immediately. Aside from that... CONS: Room was not stocked (towels, bowls, spoons) for 4 people. The walls are thin - we easily heard next room's TV, shower/toilet; road traffic faint. Floor was probably swept but otherwise dirty. PROS: Beds are comfy; water is nice and hot; stove and fridge in kitchenette worked great; TV size good; size of double queen kitchenette room good for family of 4; on-site host was very responsive to our requests; sufficient parking; great pizza place across the street; good location near downtown Julian; room #3 has window facing rear of building so more privacy and no car lights.

If you can't drink water or use it to brush teeth ect. Maybe you shouldn't rent out hotel. Kinda weird that the sign in bathroom was from February 2020.. but they provided 6bottles of water. Location is great. No heater. But had a great time across street at Fort Cross.

The facility had no potable water, they did not tell us ahead of time and there were warnings of contamiated water all over the facility when we arrived.

There was a sign in the sink saying the water was unsanitary and you couldn’t use it. They gave us a few bottles of water. You had to brush teeth, drink, wash hands in bottled water. No shower. Then in the morning the electricity shuts off. They are on a well so the water shuts off too. Now we can’t even flush the toilets, watch tv, use any hair dryer, etc. We were there for a wedding so this was a big deal. The coffee maker has a huge algae mold clump in the water reservoir. The mini fridge smelled. And worst of all, the people cleaning the rooms had no mask on, no gloves. That is against COVID regulations. We complained to the manager about the conditions and he just said none of it was their fault. We will be lucky if we don’t end up sick. We cut the trip shirt and went somewhere else. It was horrendous.

Not being able to use the water was definitely a bummer. It was recommended that we don't use the water to drink, brush our teeth, cook, clean dishes etc. So I I can't clean my dishes, but I can wash my hands and take a shower? Needless to say, we used bottled water to wash our hands and brush our teeth and we opted to shower at home after a long weekend. The room was clean, the decor is nice amd I liked the hardwood floors vs carpet. I regularly saw housekeeping cleaning rooms and it looed like they really took the time to sanitize.

The room was decent. Just needed a really good cleaning. Ceiling fan in the bedroom, lights and shelves in the bathroom were very dusty. Also, the shower curtain and liner were extremely dirty (covered in soap scum and mildew).

The property is very run down. Trash cans were all overflowing. Power went out before 8am on a Sunday.

Noone on site when you check in, communications by Text but managed. At my time to visit, WATER was not safe and further testing was needed ( property provided ample water bottles) but when you take a shower or wash your face was a bit edgy. Nice location, overpriced but guess supply and demand! Rooms are clean and comfortable, no major amenities with my rate. NICE housekeeping STAFF.

Great stay nice and clean rooms! Modern and updated more to our taste then some of the other Julian hotels. It’s a short drive into town and was close to other entertainment and more.
