Don't stay here.
I should qualify this review by saying that the staff were really great - helpful and friendly. However, this hotel needs to decide if it's a hotel or a nightclub.
We were initially put into a room on a high floor opposite the rooftop club and it was impossible to sleep - it was literally like trying to sleep in the middle of a nightclub. I used earplugs and noise-canceling headphones simultaneously and couldn't drown out the noise. The music went on until 4am, and it was like torture for my husband who had just flown in from New Zealand and was exhausted. The bass vibrations right through the room were awful, too.
The next day we asked to be moved and we were, to a lower floor (about 10 floors down), however the noise, while slightly less, was still inescapable. I pay for a hotel so that I have somewhere to sleep, not to have somewhere to be kept awake until the early hours of the morning. I understand that midtown is always going to be a bit noisy, but it was frustrating that the noise was coming from our own hotel. It was like being gaslit - pay for somewhere to sleep, but we won't let you get any!
The location is fantastic - close to Penn Station and everything in midtown is walkable, however I would have traded all that for a decent night's sleep. If you're someone who doesn't mind never having any respite from noise and wants to stay up partying all night then this might be an option for you. If you like sleeping before 4am, stay elsewhere!
