Located on a commercial street in the Marais, this lovely B&B was an exceptional surprise for us. We generally avoid big hotels so we chose this instead. What an extraordinary experience! We took the the largest suite which had four large windows, handsome decor, excellent lighting, extremely clean and attractive. There was absolutely no noise, another treat.
The host, Jean Etienne, could not have been more accommodating. He spotted our cab from the street, bounded down the stairs and carried our luggage up the stairs to the first floor. Every morning there was an excellent breakfast and on Sunday a wonderful rhubarb crumble made by Jean. I guess the boulangeries are closed on Sunday. All breakfasts featured fresh fruit and a good assortment of cheese, bread, pastry, etc. Each day he helped us figure out our 'programme' for the day and offered local recommendations. Several evenings, little treats were left in our room for us. This location was wonderful for exploring, close to the Metro and within a few blocks of a pedestrian street that was a dining haven. Also very close to the new hot restaurant for foodies - Frenchie's.
It was very hard to say good-bye. Oh yes, our host also arranged a taxi to the airport for us and left a small portable breakfast for us due to the unholy time of our morning departure at 6:30. Highly recommend. Oh, did I mention the wonderful, modern bath/shower and gorgeous decor?
