Walk past the lighthouse on Derby Street. Make sure to get your daily coffee fix at Wolf Next Door Coffee (breakfast sandwiches looked good, but didn't try) and then grab an assortment of homemade chocolates from The Chocolate Pantry right next door!

I would suggest wearing very comfortable walking shoes. Everything is within walking distance. Also, I think I would do the trolley tour first. It takes you to all the main tourist spots and then you can decide which ones to tour later on.

We had a great time in Salem. It's clean and safe by all accounts. Lots of great historical sights to see along with the fun and scary things. The people are friendly and service seems to be a main focus of vendors.

My adult daughter wanted to visit Salem for a while. Two days was enough to see the main attractions plus plenty of shops. We liked that we could walk to most places as parking could be limited.

Salem is such a fun city with a dark past. I have always been fascinated by the witch trials, and I love Hocus Pocus, so this is a great place to visit.

Great city with so much history and lots of fun things to do. October is a very busy time to visit so plan for traffic and crowds.

Easy to walk to sites. A Trolly tour definitely helps orientate the locations to see with visitor maps.

Touristy, but I expected that. So many fun activities. So many great food options. Very walkable.
"We loved this hotel. Staff, especially Miggs, was always helpful. Rooms were clean, beds were great, location was perfect with T right out front! Parking was good but the ticket machine is way too high and I had to get out of the car to get one every time. Breakfast was ok, lots of breads. We would go back 100%"
"Great hotel. Service was prompt and staff efficient. Good range of dining options available on site which was very convenient. Location was great, easy walk into the CBD and waterfront. Would stay here again. "
"Was nice! The controls in the room were fun, and the bed was comfortable. A little loud outside with all the city life, but that was to be expected. Our blackout blinds didn’t work, but it wasn’t too bad "
"Location is great for visiting MIT or Harvard. The colleges are all within walking distance. View of the river is amazing! Short uber/lyft ride to Boston and the sights.
Onsite restaurant is good. We ate at the restaurant several times, once for dinner and 3 times for breakfast.
No complaints. "
