Dining options range from authentic ramen in Little Tokyo to upscale tower restaurants, while rooftop bars provide perfect sunset cocktail spots.

Hollywood Boulevard buzzes with the magic of cinema history as tourists trace stars along the iconic Walk of Fame. The TCL Chinese Theatre's handprints connect you to Hollywood legends while the gold-trimmed Dolby Theatre stands ready for Oscar night glamour. Street performers dressed as superheroes create a carnival atmosphere beneath towering palm trees and neon lights. Dining options range from celebrity chef restaurants to late-night food trucks perfect for post-show cravings. Hotels span from historic glamour spots to modern boutiques with rooftop pools. Three Metro stations make getting around easy, connecting you to city centre LA in just 15 minutes.

Silver Lake
Silver Lake hums with creative energy where indie musicians and artists make themselves at home. Stroll around the reservoir for stunning city views or climb the famous Music Box Steps for an Instagram-worthy workout. Sunset Junction buzzes with vintage shops and cafes while colourful street murals tell stories at every turn. Coffee shops double as area living rooms where locals work on screenplays over pour-overs. Dining options range from taco trucks to farm-to-table bistros, with excellent vegan fare. Getting around is easiest on foot or bike, though metro buses connect to city centre LA and Hollywood.

Westwood
Westwood buzzes with collegiate energy, where UCLA's sprawling campus meets the charm of Westwood Village. Catch a basketball game at Pauley Pavilion, browse thought-provoking exhibits at the Hammer Museum, or catch a film at the historic Fox Theatre. The tree-lined streets blend student hangouts with sophisticated spots that attract both campus crowds and culture seekers. Dining options range from casual student favourites to upscale restaurants along Wilshire Boulevard, with a notable concentration of Persian eateries. Though parking can be tricky, the area is wonderfully walkable with excellent bus connections to greater Los Angeles. Accommodation vary from luxury high-rises to boutique properties perfect for university visitors.

Koreatown
Koreatown serves up a feast for all your senses with Korean BBQ joints that sizzle late into the night. Karaoke lounges and traditional jjimjilbangs (Korean spas) keep the energy flowing 24/7. The iconic Wiltern Theatre anchors this cultural hotspot while Koreatown Plaza buzzes with shoppers hunting for authentic Korean goods. Korean American National Museum adds a dash of cultural depth to your visit. Dining options range from hole-in-the-wall gems to upscale Korean fusion spots where the kimchi never disappoints. Getting around is a breeze with two Metro stations—Wilshire-Western and Wilshire-Normandie—connecting you to city centre LA and beyond. Hotels fit various budgets, though they're more about location than luxury.

Hyatt Place LAX/Century Blvd
"The hotel was very quiet, clean & room was spacious. My only complaint was that we arrived before check-in time at the end of a cruise and my sister-in-law was ill so we requested early check-in . They said no rooms would be ready before 1pm which we understood. It was great that she was able to get in early but my complaint is that the hotel changed her $50! I have traveled a lot of places & never been charged extra for early check-in! I was especially upset because the only reason we needed it was that my sister-in-law was ill and was unable to go on our excursion."
Loews Hollywood Hotel
"Clean property, attentive service staff, gym was small but useful, pool was great with good views of the area. Check in and check out was quick and seamless."
Hilton Garden Inn LAX Los Angeles Airport
"Nice property and good location from SoFi stadium, we came for a concert. Quiet rooms even for being so close to airport and on the main street side of the building. I will say that it took 3 calls and a visit to the front desk just to get clean towels, the staff never once cleaned the room or changed towels, removed trash etc, that's really the only downside."
Holiday Inn Los Angeles - LAX Airport by IHG
"The hotel has a convenient location, but it could def. use a face lift. Due to location of LAX and a lot of concert goers nearby, there must be a huge turnover...which shows w/ the wear and tear around the property and in the room. Again, some upgrades and refreshing would go a long way. Staff was helpful w/ helpful w/ everything and the breakfast was adequate. Parking felt safe and easy."
citizenM Los Angeles Downtown
"My first time as a truly solo vacation traveler and I couldn't have picked a better place. Bed, tech, amenities in the room are SUPERB. King bed, huge window, high tech everything, luxurious shower with fun rave lighting (optional). Room is small but its almost all bed. There is a desk if you need to work. Cozy and perfect for one person. Far better than I was expecting for the price. Staff is cool, laid back, but attentive. Common areas are really fun and everything in the place has a feel of high quality. The design for sure has a young, energetic vibe. But you can relax here. Location is great, if you are familiar with downtown you know what to expect. If youre not, it's a distinctly LA blend of new, fun, and.. a bit of the older flavor lol. But this place is so close to everything and it feels safe. It's on a corner that's perfect for Uber. Will stay again 10/10"
E-Central Downtown Los Angeles Hotel
"Very very clean and beautiful hotel. I felt very safe and all the staff was extremely friendly. The rooms were super nice and clean. I am very happy with my stay and will be back!"
Omni Los Angeles Hotel at California Plaza
"Location: downtown LA is interesting Plaza next to hotel will be great when they finish. Breakfast: restaurant in the hotel is lovely, expensive and slow. Options outside the hotel are great on weekdays, quite limited on weekends."
Hollywood Hotel
"Property is nice in general. Paying $50/night is insane, but give how sketchy the area is around the hotel, I would NOT have been comfortable leaving our car parked on the street overnight. So I was more paying for peace of mind. The room was clean but the AC did NOT work. It was as low as it could go, 65, but just blew out room temp air. It was really hot during our visit so our room was super hot at night. The bathroom is tiny with very little counter space. There are ice machines on each floor, but no dedicated water fill stations. Rooms had a little fridge and microwave and they both worked. There is NO complimentary coffee, which was kinda frustrating. Only option was to hit the Bistro down in the basement and pay $4.40 for a 12oz drip coffee. The Bistro isn’t open in the afternoon or evening so if you want a beer or glass of wine you are out of luck. There are several elevators, but they are really slow, so we took the stairs a lot. Keep in mind you need your key card to go anywhere. Elevator and stairs both require key cards to get anywhere. Property itself is cool. This could be a really rad place. They need to bump up the amenities a bit, at least have a small area in the lobby that offers free coffee and that you can buy a beer in the evenings."

- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could assist you in finding more economical options for your stay in a Los Angeles hotel. For those seeking something distinctive, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you make a reservation through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could help you find a more favourable deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels located near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Los Angeles's excellent public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well-connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often great value for money to be found.
