Excellent hotel
The staff is very, very polite and helpful. The room was big, with air conditioning (something to consider in the case of a long stay in the Portuguese summer), very clean and the bed was perfect. The facilities were excellent (swimming pool area, breakfast area, etc). Fitness room could have been a bit bigger but it is possible to keep oneself in shape. And the building itself is worth a visit! Highly recommend and I will sure be coming back next year.

This place is awesome. The building and history are amazing. Really close to the old town area, 5 min walk. We did not get a chance to use the spa or baths but they looked amazing. We did sit out by the pool for a few hours and it was great. The room was extremely large and the bathroom was huge, not sure if they all have 2 different showers like ours but wow, tons of room to spread out and relax. I would love to have spent a few days in this hotel and want to check out the others in their portfolio as well. Highly recommended!

The only thing that was vexing is that the air conditioning was controlled by the front desk and you had to call down to them to cool down the room which makes zero sense. Excellent but…
Very good to stay there. The Check in was bad because they did not find my booking for a while and when they found it there was no excuses at all for the inconvenience. The tea welcome set in the room is nice but when a couple wants the same flavour of tea, it is not available and if you want more tea bags you are charged for it! The breakfast is excellent and the staff is very helping and smiling. The pool is excellent.

Since it is a Pousada one would expect the hotel to be of a superior quality, which it is - service is great and breakfast was a good choice and all topped up when needed. Well situated for the town centre. We did however have a couple of issues. The bed was huge, which is a plus, but the mattress was quite hard and my husband did not have a good sleep. The second problem was that the pool area is small, on the day we came there were not enough sunbeds so people had to sit on the grass. There was plenty of room for more beds but they weren't there. Also, the pool is situated on the north side of the building and is in full shade for most of the day. We only stayed for one night so only used the pool for a quick cooling dip but if we had been there for a longer visit this would have been a real negative for us.
