An iconic hotel with a storied and most deserved reputation. Everyone on staff was professional, friendly, and helpful: reception, restaurant and bar (impressive Sazerac cocktail). My wife adored the old caged elevator. Our corner room was well appointed, modern but still charming, and immaculate. Somewhat noisy since it fronted the street, but traffic was very light.
