Really beautiful renovation of the hotel. Brilliant reception and spa staff. The waiting staff at both the pool and restaurant was a big let down unfortunately. Understandably, the hotel is in its “soft launch” phase but breakfast time was woeful. Took too long to get orders taken for drinks, then even longer to receive a coffee - often received after we’d finished eating. Cutlery wasn’t on the table and it arrived with the drinks which meant you’d be eating food from the buffet but have no cutlery. In my opinion, guests would rather serve themselves than have to wait for the service. Having filter coffee available for self serve would be my suggestion as well as having cutlery readily available at the buffet section. The waiting staff were beyond friendly but basic service was lacking. By the end of the week, our patience had run out unfortunately. Likewise at the pool, staff weren’t often visible and trying to get drinks at the pool was difficult. Saying that, the food was very tasty at breakfast and at the pool. We never ate dinner at the restaurant for fear of bad service again. I wouldn’t usually be so critical but it’s a 5 star hotel and the most basic things were missing. On a positive note, we had an amazing spa treatment and the bedroom was stunning. Great location to other great restaurants close by. Such a pity about the service as it really lets down what could be an amazing hotel. Hopefully just teething probs and will be sorted by mgmt soon.
