Erato Beach Hotel Adults Only
"Room was comfortable for 3 Adults. Nice pool and beach area . The staff was extremely helpful and nice."
Caldera Creta Paradise
"Very good service, the food is great"
Solimar Aquamarine Resort
"Had a fantastic stay there! Would absolutely return. The staff were friendly and helpful, food was top notch and the buffet was quality eith different theme nights and never the same. Lots of kids options too! I was so impressed with the options. We were eating lamb chops and swordfish, which I would not expect on an all inclusive buffet. The room was fantastic and really spacious....more like a suite. The beds were a bit hard though and the bath didn't work properly but was grateful to have a bath tub. The only downside was the kids club was not much fun and there was only one night of entertainment so the only real fun stuff for my toddler was the kids pool, which ahe loved and was fantastic. Everything was very clean and overall well maintained."
Atlantica Ocean Beach Resort - All inclusive
"Only room for improvement was food. Likely fine for people from the UK. I was expecting much more local fare."
Caldera Bay
"Very good!"
Neos Omalos
"The hotel is isolated close to the Samaria gorge’s trail departure. It’s perfect if you plan to visit the gorge. The hotel is a little outdated but it offers everything you need for your stay and is very affordable. The plus is the team. All of them are super nice and they make your stay unforgettable. I recommend everyone to get there just to enjoy being treated nicely in a very natural way."
Indigo Mare Hotel Apartments
"Amazing stay. Couldn’t have been happier with everything at the hotel, location, service and food."
Caldera Beach
"The property was excellent, great pools for the kids. However, the big pool near the beach is overly crowded and we were thankful that we had a smaller pool in front if our room. My kids loved it and the breakfast was excellent. We had an amazing time."
Asterion Suites & Spa - Designed for Adults
"I actually don't know where to start..... The food was amazing, the staff incredible, the pool area and beach stunning. I've been lucky enough to travel to some amazing places, staying in amazing resorts. This place is up there with the very best of them. Thank you for an amazing trip, I will be back."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Platanias
- Book for the cheapest times: For those seeking an affordable getaway, the best time to visit Platanias is during January, February, and November, when hotel prices tend to be lower. A stay of at least 6 to 7 days is recommended for fully immersing yourself in the area's historical landmarks and cultural attractions. During your visit, you can explore the charming pebble and sandy beaches, the picturesque countryside, and the quaint small-town atmosphere. Additionally, you may wish to indulge in some wine tasting at local wineries or enjoy recreational activities such as snorkelling. This budget-friendly approach ensures you experience the richness of Platanias while enjoying great value for money.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Hotels.com may offer enticing hotel deals in Platanias, particularly for those eyeing a last-minute getaway. You may discover discounted rates by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections, where last-minute offers for Crete’s best hotels could be available. Additionally, by activating email alerts or push notifications, you're more likely to see flash sales and special promotions. The Smart Shopping tool, available via the app, lets travellers compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you stay informed if rooms become available or if prices drop.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could help you find a more affordable stay at a hotel in Platanias. For those in search of something distinctive, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we can suggest alternative dates that may help you find a more attractive deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Platanias's outstanding public transport connections, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well linked. For those keen to explore alternative, less populated neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
