Asterion Suites & Spa - Designed for Adults
"I actually don't know where to start..... The food was amazing, the staff incredible, the pool area and beach stunning. I've been lucky enough to travel to some amazing places, staying in amazing resorts. This place is up there with the very best of them. Thank you for an amazing trip, I will be back."
Minoa Palace Resort
"Certain aspects of hotel need updating (keeping on card in for electricity of room). The pool chairs were never available when we wanted to use the pool. The noise carries from hallway and rooms close by. People coming home at 1am and noise waking us up every night. Service and breakfast was great and outline of hotel is lovely. For the price we paid, it should be next to perfect all around."
Atlantica Ocean Beach Resort - All inclusive
"This was our first time at an all inclusive and this hotel really did not disappoint! Previous holidays we had always opted for self-catered as we were worried about the crowds and the quality of an all inclusive - but with two young kids we decided this was the year to just go for it! From the moment we arrived the staff were amazing - we were made to feel really welcome. Our room (an inland view family suite) wasn't huge but it was more than big enough for 2 adults and 2 young kids (including a toddler in a cot) and it was modern and spotlessly clean. Also, we really didn't spend much time in the room because the kids loved the pools so much! With a large pool, kids pool, baby pool and slides everyone was happy! The sun loungers were 'claimed' around the main pool pretty early every morning, but as we had a toddler we preferred to be further from the main pool anyway so for us this wasn't an issue. Also we couldn't believe how calm it was around the pool despite the number of people - there was an excellent atmosphere with everyone just having a really lovely time! Finally I need to mention the food - the choice and quality at the Samaria restaurant was outstanding! We all ate too much and even my very fussy daughter was well fed every day. We will be coming back next year!"
Caldera Bay
"Very Clean room, fridge not working so it was replaced with new within an hour excellent service ! Loverly clean private pool, extensive buffet breakfast . Friendly staff, right on beach. Tip : walk along the beach to dine as the main strip is only good for shopping."
Avra Imperial Hotel
"Overall this is a nice place to stay if you just want to relax. We had a junior suite with a pool and did just BnB. Breakfast is good. Spa is good. Gym is good. Service regarding rooms could sometimes be hit and miss- we had to ask for the air con to be seen to on numerous occasions, the room to be cleaned a few times and there was one turn down service in 10 nights (just because we asked as we noticed it was supposed to be included (not that we particularly needed it). There is a small working village just outside the hotel with a handful of restaurants, supermarket, couple of convenience stores. A walk through the village takes you to the monastery which is worth a visit. The walk along the seafront is lovely with about 8 or so restaurants- all good, inexpensive, with beautiful setting. The beach at the hotel is just okay- it’s small, the hotel beach bar is good and convenient for the beach. I would not be going to this hotel for its beach. You have to walk across a car park littered with debris to get to the beach. Main pool area is very good and well maintained. It was a lovely temperature (in July). Tennis courts were good. Can’t comment on any evening entertainment or hotel restaurants."
Myrion Beach Resort & Spa - Adults Only
"It was an amazing experience at the resort. The food was excellent, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming. We especially enjoyed the beautiful pool area and beach. A few small improvements would make the experience even more consistent with a five-star hotel: adding extra towel or robe hooks in the shower area, installing a hygienic shower in the bathroom, and providing a capsule coffee machine in the room. The location is also very convenient—just a short taxi or bus ride from Platania, with many restaurants and shops. Overall, we had a wonderful stay!"
Esthisis Suites Chania
"The one bed suite was very spacious and comfortable. Plenty of sun loungers and tables outside including own chairs directly outside room. Really friendly and welcoming staff. Short walk via hill into town. Ideal place for exploring hiking trails and Platanias. No shop or restaurant on site but plenty in local area so not an issue. Pool a decent size and well maintained. Great view."
Marika Beach Hotel
"Booked 1 room with another family with 9 of us at the property. We had also rented cars and drove to the hotel. Great access for free parking. The room was split over 2 levels that the boys enjoyed. The room was very clean. The breakfast selection was significant to choose from and the Italian restaurant was really great. The hotel gave direct access to the beach and great spot for sunset pictures!"
Caldera Creta Paradise
"Caldera Crete paradise was absolutely fabulous, very clean and staff were helpful and very friendly, the food was very good every evening was a different theme and so much to choose from every day. We had a fantastic time but we weren't ready to leave the place so we will return hopefully very soon."

During your visit, you can explore the charming pebble and sandy beaches, the picturesque countryside, and the quaint small-town atmosphere. Additionally, you may wish to indulge in some wine tasting at local wineries or enjoy recreational activities such as snorkelling. This budget-friendly approach ensures you experience the richness of Platanias while enjoying great value for money.

You may discover discounted rates by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections, where last-minute offers for Crete’s best hotels could be available. Additionally, by activating email alerts or push notifications, you're more likely to see flash sales and special promotions. The Smart Shopping tool, available via the app, lets travellers compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you stay informed if rooms become available or if prices drop.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could help you find a more affordable stay at a hotel in Platanias. For those in search of something distinctive, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we can suggest alternative dates that may help you find a more attractive deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Platanias's outstanding public transport connections, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well linked. For those keen to explore alternative, less populated neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
