Adelaide Central Business District
Adelaide's CBD showcases striking colonial architecture alongside sleek modern towers on tree-lined streets. Wander through the elegant North Terrace where sandstone buildings house cultural gems like the Art Gallery of South Australia and South Australian Museum. Shoppers flock to bustling Rundle Mall while history buffs explore the Adelaide Town Hall and Parliament House with their grand facades. The area offers dining options from casual food courts to upscale restaurants on nearby Gouger Street. Hotels range from boutique properties to business-focused accommodation. Getting around is a breeze with free city connector buses, trams, and Adelaide Metro trains all converging in this walkable district.

Glenelg
Glenelg delivers beach bliss without the fuss, where Adelaide's favourite stretch of white sand meets a buzzy seaside scene. Stroll the historic 1857 jetty at sunset when the sky puts on its nightly colour show. The Beachouse amusement centre keeps kids squealing with delight while Jetty Road's shops and cafes offer retail therapy with ocean views. Seafood dominates the menu at waterfront restaurants where fresh catches shine in every dish. Getting around couldn't be easier with the tram connecting directly to Adelaide's centre in just 30 minutes. Hotels and apartments line the esplanade, many offering those dreamy ocean views that make holiday memories stick.

Hahndorf
Step into Australia's oldest German settlement where European charm meets Adelaide Hills beauty. Hahndorf's cobblestone high street showcases traditional half-timbered buildings housing artisan workshops and speciality shops. Wine enthusiasts can sample local vintages at Hahndorf Hill Winery while history buffs explore the Heritage Museum and Hans Heysen's former studio. German-Australian fusion dominates the food scene with schnitzel houses, artisan bakeries, and contemporary cafes. Boutique bed & breakfasts in heritage buildings offer charming accommodation for visitors. The compact historic core is easily walkable, though a car is recommended for exploring surrounding Adelaide Hills vineyards.

McLaren Vale
McLaren Vale dazzles with rolling vineyard landscapes and small-town charm just outside Adelaide. Wine lovers can hop between 80+ cellar doors, sampling regional specialities at Maxwell Wines, d'Arenberg, and Wirra Wirra. Beyond wine, you'll find artisanal cheese factories, olive groves, and weekend farmers markets bursting with local goodies and handcrafted treasures. Farm-to-table restaurants showcase seasonal produce alongside those famous local wines. Most visitors need a car to explore properly, though cycling tours are popular on flatter vineyard roads. Accommodation ranges from cosy B&Bs nestled among the vines to luxury wine resorts with vineyard views.

North Adelaide
North Adelaide's charming streets are lined with heritage buildings that tell stories of colonial times through their sandstone facades and wrought iron details. The area wraps around the edge of Adelaide Parklands, where joggers and picnickers enjoy the green escape. St. Peter's Cathedral towers above tree-lined avenues, while the iconic Adelaide Oval hosts cricket matches that fill the air with excitement. Sophisticated dining options along O'Connell Street range from upscale bistros to cosy cafes serving artisan coffee. Stay in converted Victorian mansions that function as boutique B&Bs with period furnishings. Free city connector buses make the 5-minute trip to city centre easy, while wide footpaths make exploring on foot a pleasure.

Tryp Adelaide by Wyndham
"It was a pleasant stay and the staff were really helpful. The amenities were very useful. I only blame the Adelaide weather gods for making my vacation a less memorable one! 😊"
Hotel Grand Chancellor Adelaide
"A very pleasant stay. Staffs are polite and professional. It is in a very central location. The room is clean."
Adelaide Riviera Hotel
"We chose the hotel because of its price point and proximity to health services. We were pleasantly surprised! While obviously a ‘budget friendly hotel’, it was neat and very clean. The bed was comfortable and cosy and all linen and towels excellent. Above all, friendly staff made us welcome and could not have been more helpful!"
Eos by SkyCity
"decent hotel, very comfy bed. good customer service, room could have been cleaner but the toweles and sheets were fine. Breakfast in cluded however the resteraunt doesnt open until 7am which if you are on business is annoying as half the day is alraeday gone at that point."
Stamford Plaza Adelaide
"Amazing stay. We will be back"
InterContinental Adelaide by IHG
"We stayed the night we got married and was so surprised that when we got back to our room there was a bottle of sparkling wine left chilled on ice from the hotel. The room although dated was large, clean and had great views of the Torrens River. Its in the heart of the city, so close to everything. The breakfast was sufficient but the table wasn't cleared of dirty dishes and the staff didn't come around to see if we wanted further cups of coffee/tea. That was our only complaint. All in all a lovely stay."
Hotel Panorama
"I like the fact that if you want a pack of chips or a chocolate, you don't have to pay 5 or 6 dollars, as I do at the Hilton. Great room, very clean and fresh. I did not like that when I arrived, I tried to book a table for dinner; there was nothing available. I ended up sitting on a stool in the bar to eat dinner, which would never have happened at the Hilton. The staff were all very accommodating and helpful."
Atura Adelaide Airport
"Great food at the restaurant and confortable room"
Pullman Adelaide
"Staff were very helpful. Not sure paying additional for a park view is worthwhile but apparently alternative is a car park view"

- Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Adelaide is between June and August, when hotel prices are typically lower. For those looking to explore the city’s key landmarks, cultural sites, and historical attractions, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. During this period, visitors can enjoy great value for money while experiencing a range of activities related to culture and history, including shopping, dining, and attending local festivals. As prices may drop during these months, it's an excellent opportunity for those on a budget to immerse themselves in the rich offerings of this vibrant city.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Searching for hotel deals in Adelaide is simple with Hotels.com. You may discover enticing offers in the DealsOpens in a new window section, while the Last-Minute Deals option could reveal cheaper hotels in Adelaide near your travel date. Enable email alerts or push notifications to stay informed about flash sales and promotions. Additionally, use the Smart Shopping tool on the app to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're more likely to find a suitable option for your last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you find a better deal for your stay in an Adelaide hotel. For those seeking a unique experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we may suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, assisting you in your search for a good deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre generally cost more, but with Adelaide's excellent public transport links, you may find a more affordable independent hotel further out that is still well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
