Westmorland Hotel Tebay

8/10 Good
"A solid stay at this lovely hotel, which was our halfway point home after a trip to Scotland. The food quality was really good, very enjoyable, and the room was great - the bed felt like sleeping on a cloud, it was so comfortable. The only reason I haven't given it five stars is that there was room for improvement, although it was a very healthy standard and we would stay again. Our reception welcome couldn't be faulted, the staff were great. However, we waited in the lounge for our dining spot, and although there were staff seemingly not over-busy, there were plates left from other guests untouched in this area which meant it wasn't that pleasant a spot to wait. Communication at breakfast could have been better, although the breakfast was good, and we only had to ask really, but would have liked to have been told if we could have yoghurt/fruit etc from the table. The food, both at evening and breakfast sittings, was very good and worth the price, but the drinks were eyewateringly pricey! Don't let this put you off, it's a lovely place to stay and we enjoyed it. Under the management of the group managing the lovely services, we know they'll sort these very minor issues out as it was clear from the management and systems in place that they are aiming for excellence. We have every confidence they'll achieve it."

For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. 4. Consider your location: Opting for accommodation closer to key attractions or city centres may offer convenience, but it often tends to come with higher costs. For more affordable options, you might consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between price and accessibility to the sites you wish to visit. Additionally, exploring independent hotels located further afield could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
