Learn more about Johnson City
Wander through the boyhood home of President Lyndon B. Johnson, where history feels as tangible as the Texas heat. The LBJ Ranch offers a remarkably personal glimpse into presidential life, with his office preserved exactly as he left it. At the Exotic Resort Zoo, feed giraffes from your palm while they regard you with improbable eyelashes. The surrounding Hill Country vineyards provide tastings that locals insist rival California's, though they'll never admit this to Californians. After wine tasting at Texas Hills Vineyards, cool off with a dip in the Pedernales River where limestone bottoms create pools perfect for afternoon soaking. Western Art & Artefacts showcases regional creativity that goes well beyond the expected cowboy motifs.

Inn On Barons Creek
"Great location"
Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa
"Very enjoyable property"
Best Western Johnson City Inn
"This was a great place to stay for our volunteer bottling at Garrison Brothers Distillery. Justin at the front desk was very nice and helpful. It's just an older country hotel. Ot could probably use a good bit of renovation but it's great for a good night's sleep"
Walden Retreats
"We loved our stay at Walden Retreats. Becky checked us in and was so welcoming and informative of our tent and things to do while we were there. I was worried that the tent would be warm in the first of August, but we kept the shades down during the day and the fans on. My husband and I actually woke up cold in the morning, so we were just fine. I couldn't believe how clean the tent itself was. They had special touches like robes, luxury bath towels, and fantastic smelling shampoo and conditioner. We enjoyed making smores by the fire and sleeping in the next morning. My husband told me before we left that he wants to come when it gets a little colder to be there during a different season."
