Ubud City-Centre
Ubud City-Centre pulses with Balinese artistic energy and spiritual vibes at every turn. Sacred Monkey Forest tempts with mischievous primates swinging through ancient moss-covered temples. The Traditional Art Market buzzes with local craftspeople selling intricate batiks and wood carvings. Campuhan Ridge Walk rewards early risers with emerald valley views while traditional dance performances light up Ubud Palace nightly. Most visitors navigate the compact centre on foot, though scooter rentals and ride-sharing apps make exploring rice terraces beyond town easy. Dining ranges from $2 local warungs to plant-based cafes catering to yoga enthusiasts. Boutique hotels and traditional guesthouses nestle among tropical gardens, offering peaceful retreats from the lively cultural hub.

Nyuh Kuning
Nyuh Kuning gives you authentic Balinese village life without the tourist hustle. This peaceful area sits right next to the famous Monkey Forest, where ancient temples peek through jungle canopy. Watch master woodcarvers and painters create traditional art in open-air workshops. Join a local family for home-cooked meals, or wander through compounds with intricate stone carvings and colourful ceremonial gates. Small family-run warungs serve delicious nasi campur and traditional satay at wallet-friendly prices. Most places close early, matching the village's natural rhythms. Homestays and modest guesthouses offer genuine cultural exchange with Balinese families. Walking paths connect to central Ubud in about 20 minutes, with motorcycle taxis available for quicker trips.

Pengosekan
Pengosekan gives you Bali's rich culture without the tourist crush. The area is home to traditional woodcarving workshops where you can watch skilled artists transform teak into treasures. Sacred temples peek out between emerald rice terraces, while art galleries showcase vibrant Balinese paintings. The Ubud Monkey Forest offers wild encounters just minutes away. Stay in converted family compounds where cockerels serve as your alarm clock. Local warungs dish up authentic nasi campur and bebek betutu for just a few dollars. Getting around requires ojeks or rented bicycles since public transport is limited. Morning mist over the rice fields makes every early wake-up worthwhile.

Sambahan
Sambahan offers a peek into real Balinese village life where rice terraces roll into the distance and temple ceremonies fill the air. This peaceful spot lets you step away from tourist crowds and into a world of traditional architecture, morning gamelan music, and aromatic incense from daily offerings. Take gentle walks through lush tropical landscapes or learn about rice farming from locals who've done it for generations. Meals here come from family homestays and simple warungs serving authentic Balinese cooking with ingredients from nearby gardens. Getting around means walking narrow village paths or arranging private transport to nearby Ubud. Traditional compounds with thatched roofs and carved details provide a genuine cultural immersion for travellers seeking the quiet side of Bali.

The Udaya Resorts and Spa
"Perfect location for Ubud tours, amazing hotel"
Impiana Private Villas Ubud
"A Perfect Private Retreat for Couples in Ubud Impiana Private Villas Ubud was one of the highlights of our Bali trip and easily one of the most comfortable and relaxing places we stayed. The entire property is incredibly peaceful and beautifully maintained. Each villa is completely private and standalone, which gives you a wonderful sense of privacy and makes it especially perfect for couples looking for a quiet and romantic getaway in Ubud. One of my favourite parts of the stay was breakfast. There was a great selection of food, everything we tried was delicious, and you can enjoy breakfast overlooking the property's own beautiful rice terraces. It was such a relaxing way to start each morning. The facilities throughout the resort are excellent, but what really stood out was the service. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, friendly and incredibly attentive. They seemed to notice the little things and genuinely made us feel very well looked after without ever being intrusive. After spending our days exploring Bali, coming back to such a peaceful and private villa was something we really looked forward to. I would highly recommend Impiana Private Villas Ubud to couples looking for somewhere quiet, comfortable and private while still experiencing the beautiful atmosphere of Ubud. Our stay exceeded our expectations, and I would happily stay here again on our next visit."
Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana
"Staying at Tanah Gajah in Ubud was an absolute highlight of our time in Bali. From the moment we stepped onto the property, we were blown away by the level of care and hospitality. The staff here are truly extraordinary. Every single team member made us feel genuinely welcomed, greeting us by name every day and anticipating our needs before we even had to ask. Whether we needed recommendations, help with logistics, or just a quick chat about our plans, everyone was incredibly warm, attentive, and super helpful. The resort’s amenities were top-tier across the board. The serene pool, lush paddy field surroundings, and quiet, spacious grounds provided the ultimate peaceful retreat after exploring the island. Every detail of the estate feels thoughtful, luxurious, and deeply connected to Balinese culture while delivering modern comfort. If you are looking for an authentic, high-touch luxury escape with world-class service in Ubud, Tanah Gajah exceeds every expectation. We can’t wait to return!"
Ayung Resort Ubud
"Clean room, friendly staff, food is immense and the spa was great"
Maya Ubud Resort and Spa
"Staff was very helpful and everyone from cleaning to pool were very nice. The pools were amazing, especially the adult only one. We tried a few experiences: Teppayanki: great taste and friendly chef, was a lot of fun. Only negative is the sauce maybe been a bit too buttery In villa dining: the staff set up a nice table and BBQ in our villa. The food was fresh off the grill and delicious with very generous portions."
Bali Bohemia
"This was one of my favourite places to stay in Bali. Right away the staff were so kind and helpful. The room I was in had a sitting area and a loft, and the decor was absolutely stunning. It was very bohemian which is totally my vibe. The room was an amazing size and the patio had the most beautiful chairs that overlooked the pool area. Just around the corner (about a minute walk maybe) is their Bali Bohemia restaurant. WOW! Their food was amazing and once again, the staff were incredibly kind. The decor and music was incredible. The monkey forest is right outside the hotel and restaurant, which I really enjoyed. I love animals and seeing the monkeys around the area was super cute. If the monkeys got too close, the staff were on top of getting them away, but I personally loved seeing them so close up, and they didn’t bother me at all. I will 100% stay here again!"
Element by Marriott Bali Ubud
"Not a big of a deal but water leaked from the shower room into the toilet area. It would be helpful if there are more towels placed in the room. I requested to leave extra towels in the room for the second night, but they didn't. It worked out ok. All the hotel staffs are nice and friendly. They are very helpful. The hotel gave us such a warm hospitality. I would stay there again."
The Westin Resort & Spa Ubud, Bali
"A superb hotel. Spent a week here in July 2026. Received a very warm welcome upon arrival and checked in to a standard room, more than adequate, spacious with a walk in shower and bath room. Bed was super comfy and huge! The pool area is more than adequate with sun beds available at all hours of the day. The pool has a great view over the nearby forest. Took advantage of the spa which provided excellent treatment, a little bit of extra luxury. The breakfast is very good with all you’d expect from a buffet catering to all cultural tastes. The 2 restaurants are good, although you may wish to go farther afield for some authentic Indonesian cuisine. Plenty available. The staff are super attentive, always around to serve at the pool or dining facilities. Always a sincere friendly greeting. The hotel Is about a 15 minute cheap taxi out of Ubud away from the busy areas. Only minor read for improvement would be room balcony, ours was a little shabby and not so Inviting as it was very close to the main road. Maybe request a room facing away from the road if affected by noise. Overall we would definitely visit again and recommend to any wishing to visit Ubud."
The Evitel Resort Ubud

For those keen to explore the area's landmarks, history, and culture – including temples, forests, dancing, spa, culture, yoga, biking, rafting, art, and romantic spots – a stay of at least 3 to 4 days is ideal. This itinerary offers great value for money while providing an immersive experience into Ubud's rich heritage and natural beauty.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals for hotels in Ubud, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, helping you to seize any potential savings. Additionally, utilise the Smart Shopping tool via the app to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're well-informed about your options. You'll be promptly notified if prices drop or rooms become available, making it easier to plan your last-minute escape.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay in a Ubud hotel. For those seeking unique experiences, boutique hotels might offer a more personalised service and potentially better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average, and if it is on the higher side, we may suggest more affordable dates to help you find a better deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, though with Ubud’s excellent public transport links, you might find a more affordable independent hotel further afield that remains well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is frequently excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could offer a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
