10/10 Excellent
"I had an amazing stay here and truly can’t thank the staff enough for how kind and helpful they were during my trip to Shima. The hotel itself was beautiful, very comfortable, and had such a relaxing atmosphere. The onsen was also wonderful — very clean, peaceful, and private, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Saito and the rest of the staff went completely above and beyond for me. They even drove me where I needed to go the next day when they absolutely did not have to, which I was incredibly grateful for. When I returned looking for my lost AirPod, they didn’t just point me in a direction — they actively helped me search my room and even looked throughout the hotel with me. That level of care and hospitality is something you don’t forget. Everyone here was so welcoming and genuine, and they made my stay feel special from beginning to end. If I ever come back to Shima, I will absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Shima

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Shima is during February, June, and November, when hotel prices may drop to lower prices. For those interested in exploring key landmarks, historical sites, and cultural attractions, including the aquarium, theme park, seafood, marina, small town, swimming, adventure, sea, natural parks, and hot springs, an itinerary of at least 1 to 2 days is ideal. This budget-friendly visit ensures great value for money while experiencing the area's rich history and culture on a budget.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Hi Shima, if you're looking for hotel deals, you may discover attractive offers by checking the DealsOpens in a new window section on Hotels.com. For those keen on spontaneous travel, you could find last-minute deals by exploring the Last-Minute Deals area, which features discounted hotel rooms near your travel date. Additionally, Hotels.com provides Smart Shopping , a comparison tool available via the app that helps travellers compare hotel prices and amenities. You’re more likely to see flash sales and special offers if you enable email alerts or push notifications, ensuring you’re updated on any available deals.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may differ depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and season, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay at the Shima hotel. For those in search of unique experiences, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised touch and occasionally better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will indicate if the price for your selected dates is higher or lower than average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could offer a more favourable option.
  4. Consider your location: Remaining in close proximity to key attractions or city centres can offer convenience, yet it often comes with increased costs. For more affordable rates, you might consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between price and ease of access to the places you intend to visit. Exploring independent hotels further afield may provide a more authentic and generally budget-friendly experience.
