The front of house staff were incredibly friendly on arrival and every morning/day as we went out and when we came back in. The location was fantastic and the rooms were very clean and had what we needed (a very comfortable bed, lots of pillows, AC, a powerful shower, a small table and two chairs, a kettle and a coffee maker plus cutlery, plates etc if needed). The room was small, as all are in Switzerland but it did not feel cramped. We will definitely choose this hotel again.

Loved this place! Was right in walking distance to many restaurants, shopping, and sights. We stayed in a room that sleeps three, and were pleasantly surprised when we got to our room and had a bottle of wine and a terrace off of our room! We also arrived early and the front desk had no problem holding our bags and even bringing them into the room for us when the room was ready. Would highly recommend!

Location is excellant near a very lively plaza. Room is very functional with a mini kitchen and a fridge. We had a window open in to plaza that made it interesting. They are in process of finishing the upgrade of the hotel, so ask for a fan as room tends to be warm

The hotel was in a very good location, very close to everything. The hotel room and bathroom were very small, but I understand, that is normal for Europe. We arrived a the hotel around 11 am, our room wasn't ready yet. We were able to leave our luggage and walk around. We came back at 2:45 pm and the room was still not ready. We were told to come back in 15 min. We did come back in 15 min and the room was ready.

The front office staffs are very friendly. The hotel is very centrally located in the old town with a lot of restaurants in walking distance. The weekend can get a little noisy from the street. The WiFi is extremely unreliable. The room is spacious but Bathroom is very tight can fit one person at the time. We had do no disturb sign on in the morning but housekeeping open the door without even knocking at 8am which is terrible. We were told that some don’t speak English but the sign has a sleeping symbol on it which is universal. Thankfully we were awake and stopped them coming in right away.

The location is great. There is an air con in the room. There is also a lift to carry the luggage upstairs. Too bad when we checked out, the lift is out of order so we have to carry the luggage downstairs. The room is spacious but the restroom is very small. Overall, I will recommend this hotel.

Underrated lodging….it is located in the heart of Old Town Zurich. The Ass Bar pastry/ coffee shop is steps away. They wisely included window air conditioner…I wouldn’t have survived without it. The price was an amazing value….especially since the majority of your time will be spent enjoying the sights. 😊

I stayed at Hotel Franziskaner in Zurich on a business trip, sharing a room with a colleague. Overall, the hotel was well located and convenient for getting around the city. The room was comfortable and perfectly adequate for single occupancy, but in hindsight it was quite small for two people sharing. The bathroom facilities were good, although the space was very compact. It was an interesting and clever use of the limited space, but it did feel rather confined. The location was a definite positive. It is very central, with good access to public transport and plenty of restaurants and dining options within easy walking distance. There are also several bars very close by, some of which stay open late, so the area has a lively atmosphere in the evenings. Another useful feature for a business stay was the 24-hour access to the building, which made coming and going at different times very convenient. Overall, Hotel Franziskaner is a well-located and practical option for a short business stay, particularly if travelling alone. For two colleagues sharing a room, however, I would recommend considering the room size carefully.
