WEIL Hotel
"The hotel is location is great. I stayed 4 nights in the Superior King Room on th 12th floor, it was spacious and clean, bed was good but pillows can be better. However the toilet paper is very hard and rough, I have expected better for this kind of hotel. Last day the housekeeper forgot to give bathtowels, I called the receptionist and requested for new ones, but she seems not believing me and want to check first. I found it very strange, why would I lie about it. She did sent someone, then the housekeeper wants to check again in my room. Then I feel offended, not sure why they want to keep checking and searching for something there is not there. That's waste of my time. Most of the staff are friendly and nice, but there was a staff who quite has a big mouth, stopping me to appraise the piano on the first level, well there were no sign that guests are not supposed to play on it, I apologised for playing it. but he seems very upset and kept saying that is not meant for play and only decoration. That's very rude of him, if you don't want people to touch it then don't put the piano there. As a world traveller pianos are put in airports, train stations, malls etc for piano users. These last two points kinda ruin my mood during the stay, very unfortunate."
Stallionz by Mana Mana
"Nice pool, gym and room is great. Good to hv a convenient store as well. It will be great if there’s laundry at the hotel."
1969 DKelly Hotel
"We love the hotel’s Art Deco/contemporary luxury design, making it a truly unique and beautiful property. A lot of thought goes into every aspect from the impressive reception lobby to the luxurious bed linen. The welcome tea hosted on the Executive Floor lounge is a nice and hospitable gesture (well done)! Don’t miss going up to the rooftop garden. The views are amazing! The staff are helpful and friendly. Special mention of the Concierge Mr Amin who has a cheerful smile for everyone. The buffet breakfast is one of the best we have had. We will definitely choose to stay at the D’Kelly again when we next visit Ipoh. We wish the 1969 D’Kelly brand will carry across other Malaysian cities. Book it, you will not regret it."
AC Hotels by Marriott Ipoh
"Clean and spacious room. Courteous staff."
Hotel Excelsior
"Hotel Excelsior is strategically located in Ipoh downtown and many well-regarded eateries are within walking distance. We always stay here just for this reason. Just imagine: directly opposite the hotel is the renowned Oversea Restaurant that offers the finest Cantonese cuisine. The rooms are spacious with a bright and cheery vibe. Seems like the hotel has gonr through recent refurbishment. Cost is also reasonable. A good place to stay at."
Bedrock Hotel
"Staff is exceptional and very friendly. Nice location."
M Boutique Station 18
"There is a Aeon Mall & Supermarket in 5 mins walking distance; that is the best point of the hotel. Limited hotel car park hence I have to park outside hotel which is chargeable. The staff is friendly and helpful."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Ipoh
- Book for the cheapest times: Ipoh is an affordable destination that offers great value for money, particularly for visitors on a budget. The most economical periods to visit are March, October, and November, when hotel prices may drop to lower prices. For those eager to explore the city’s renowned landmarks, rich history, and cultural attractions — including charming coffee spots, serene temples, and intriguing cave explorations — a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is ideal. This timeframe allows travellers to fully immerse themselves in the cultural richness and historical allure that Ipoh has to offer.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: If you're seeking exclusive Ipoh hotel deals, start by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window section on Hotels.com. You may discover last-minute offers by visiting the Last-Minute Deals area, where discounted rates on hotels close to your travel date could be available. Additionally, activating email alerts or push notifications will keep you informed about flash sales and special promotions. With the Smart Shopping comparison tool available via the app, you're more likely to see a range of hotel prices and amenities, helping you make an informed decision for your last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year. Being flexible with your dates might help you save on your stay in an Ipoh hotel. For those seeking distinctive experiences, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised touch and potentially better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average, and if it is on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could offer a better deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, yet thanks to Ipoh's superb public transport links, you might discover an independent hotel further afield that is more likely to be affordable while remaining well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
