This was our first stay a Hideaway, but it certainly will not be our last. Our room was well outfitted, comfortable and attractive. The building felt very secure because of the digital entry systems. The location couldn't be better for either heading to Tanglewood or for shopping downtown. This will always be our first call when thinking of heading to Lenox.

Definitely one of the best prices around for this old inn. Plenty of living room seating and family entertainment with puzzles etc. there is a ping pong table, chess set and foosball. Quiet. There is a self-serve high end coffee machine and a vending machine. No visible staff but there are phone numbers if you have an issue. I had some trouble with the ac ( too cold) but managed fine. Bathroom small but shower is new.

The room was fine, comfortable bed and good size bathroom, however the television in the room did not work and there is no staff at the property to contact. Everything is done remotely through text. There were limited amenities at this property other than coffee and ice. Water and snacks required purchase through a vending machine. This is a quaint old house in a convenient area of Lenox but very little available at the property.

Great place to stay for location and was very unique. Had trouble checking in and was difficult to get ahold of someone since there was no onsite staff. They said it was a problem with expedia booking. The room itself was great and spacious - so much to do with how they had the whole place decorated. A very nice place to stay for the night.

It would be more helpful if there was staff on duty. Towels in supply closet weere not available the last morning when we needed them. Coffee machine was interesting but filled with a sweetened creamer. Our room did not smell good although there was no obvious cause, maybe fireplace? That said, the room was good sized. More hanging space would be helpful since we were there a few days. Good location.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Hideaway in Lenox. The facility is charming, cozy, and clean. The problem was checking in. The link they sent me did not work. I was able to get in touch with someone over the phone, but it took some time and the agent was difficult to understand. I found the check-in process to be stressful. After we got over this part, the day was very pleasant, and I would definitely go back in the future.

Nice place if you are into 70s nostalgia and don’t mind creaky floors and eclectic furniture. Very convenient to downtown Lenox and next door to a free town EV charging station. But the onsite SWTCH charger seems to be very expensive, according to the SWTCH app. Our room had a step down into the bath, and a clawfoot tub awkwardly converted into a shower that could be hard for someone to get into. Room had balcony, small fridge, comfortable bed, and charging port by bed. Nice common rooms with eclectic knick-knacks and games, vinyl records, great (free) coffee machine, filtered water, table hockey, etc. Also a separate play room for kids. Apparently pets are allowed, but didn’t see any. Some noisy guests despite 10 pm quiet time. Too bad there is no front desk staff, but you can reach someone by phone in entryway. Checkin info arrived late, only -4 hours (not 24) in advance. Seemed to be sufficient parking. Soap dispenser wasn’t working but was able to get replacement from open supply closet. A fairly long walk to Tanglewood, but could faintly hear the music in the evening!

Creepy and completely lacking in service When we arrived, we weren’t given a room number and couldn’t find it through the tablet either. There was no staff anywhere in the building to help us. The room itself is honestly quite creepy, with an extremely outdated style that makes it feel cold and unwelcoming. We also have four windows facing the street, with no shutters or blackout curtains whatsoever, so there is nothing to block the bright street lighting at night. Overall, given the price we paid, this is completely unacceptable. I genuinely regret having booked two nights here.

Our room on the 3rd floor was way too small for 2 people. Bathroom had no area for toiletries and the shower was a tight stand up shower stall. A view out the window was looking through spider webs and dead bugs. Coffee machine in the game room was great but they only had oat milk and coconut milk available as creamer. Very poor cell service so landline was needed to check in….but music in foyer was to loud to hear what was said. No employees in the premises.

First thing, the parking was terrible. Only one handicapped spot and not nearly enough spaces for all of the rooms. The front door of the house was left open so anyone could enter. We were woken up in the morning at 0830 to a fire alarm. We went outside and it took the fire department AT LEAST 15 minutes to get there and when they did they COULD NOT get in the driveway due to the poor parking arrangements. There were cars parked on both sides of the driveway due to lack of parking spaces. Thank goodness it was not an actual fire because it could have been catastrophic. The room was so small that you couldn’t pass between the bed and the bathroom without hitting the door and you had to let each other pass in order to move about the room. For the price we paid for one night we could have had a much better stay elsewhere.

Really wanted to like this self check-in hotel, but will not be returning here. The building itself has lots of character with trendy decor; however, the lack of guest services/security protocols was disconcerting. Once we checked in, we noticed that our comforter was covered with dog hair. We had to get our own lint roller to clean it because we did not receive a response from staff after texting the number provided. Later on, we realized the body wash was not refilled and the hot water was not working. The next morning as we were returning to our room, we found 3 strangers were trying to enter it... they claimed to be checking on our stay, but were not wearing any uniforms nor did they identify themselves until asked. After calling the phone number and urging the call center to contact the innkeeper twice, it was confirmed those people were staff members. This was gross negligence on the part of a self check-in hotel. Hideaway Inns should have at least notified us that staff members would be checking on us during our stay, let alone trying to gain entry into our room. After all that, we sent an email about the hot water and got a response saying they are working on it, but no update was provided. The hot water did not work for the remainder of our stay. We have stayed at other self check-in hotels that did not have issues like this.

Don’t go here! Stay at the local Marriott! This is a ghost place. No one works there. You need to call some strange phone no to get someone to help. No keys to the top . Just some code. No food. No breakfast! There are only machines where you can purchase chips and soda. The vending machines only take credit cards. The windows didn’t open. The light on the desk didn’t work, so I could not do my work. Poor lighting throughout. Very dark. Strange smell. I imagine this is how you feel if you’re buried alive, and the rooms are not cheap. I was in one room first and the toilet didn’t stop running. Had to change room. You need to call some strange phone number to get anything done. The front door is open all the time, through the night. Scary, especially if you are on the first floor! The only good thing was a decent shower. I’ve been to Lenox before and the Marriott is a far better choice. I asked for a copy of my bill by email/text twice. Never got it.

The Hideaway Inn itself was charming. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the grounds and the lovely sitting room on the first floor. The Hideaway is very conveniently located and we appreciated being able to walk into town for food and entertainment. The only drawback to staying there was the check in process. There was no staff at all on the premises and so check in was all done digitally. Unfortunately, I couldn't open the email message I had been sent with the code I needed to complete the check in process. This caused confusion and was tiresome after a long drive to get to the Bershires. There was a phone at the check in desk and we eventually talked to someone who texted me the code I needed to complete the check in process. Even though our room was lovely and we had a restful and relaxing night, I don't think we will stay there again because the check in process was so cumbersome.
