Things we don’t like was that the doors were hard to close, too many ants, and the bed sheets weren’t that clean, but overall the place was pretty good.

Good clean hotel with good service
It was a good stay at Uptown hotel. Hotel is clean and the room I stay was a fairly large size. Breakfast was ordinary. Hotel is a good 30 mins to Yangon city centre. Overall, I am happy with my 3 days stay in the hotel.

Cleanliness not of standard.
Being ranked as a 4 star hotel - quite disappointed with the strong mouldy smell and when we entered the family room. Floor is dusty and the bedsheets were yellowish and has a smell. The water from the toilet has strong rusty smell. I dare not even wash my face with the tap water. I do not mind old hotels - but the cleanliness is really not of standard.

Away from downtown
Noisy-temple broadcast prayers from across the road.
Bathroom smells
Power supply cuts - blackouts
Coffee house meals were good and reasonablly priced> Had disappointing experience on the evening of 30 and 31 Dec during our dinner when 5-6 representatives of the hotel owners (not local staff) were speaking loudly and heavily smoking. within the dining area. Bad promotion for the Hotel.

The hotel is a long way from anywhere although taxis are fairly reasonable. Biggest complaint with the hotel is that the room had a peculiar odour that was quite irritating. Breakfast wasn't with the effort. The staff however were very accommodating

An "ok" Stay
I stayed here for a night as I was traveling in Yangon for a day before heading to Mandalay. The hotel staff was beyond friendly and accommodating. The room was ok and the beds were comfy but the issues we had was the cleanliness of the bathroom. It was quite disappointing. We were literally afraid to walk and use the toilet without wearing slippers as the floors were pretty dirty. It seemed as if bathroom wasn't cleaned after the last guest. The daily breakfast was not good at all but we did enjoy eating dinner. I live in Myanmar so I think I am able to give fair reviews. The location is ok depending on what you're interested in and modes of transportation. It is quite a distance from the airport and downtown. A plus side is that it is very quiet at night so getting a good nights rest is great.
