Don't stay here. This is a love motel beside a bar. The area is nice but this hotel is nasty and dirty. It's cheaper to pay cash than to book through here.

Clean, practical, central and economical
Just wanted an economical and convenient place to stay with parking, so very good for that. Quick access by taxi to everywhere we wanted to go.

worst hotel, dirty room, rude & dishonest staff
Arrived and was told that they do not have room for me because my booking is booked for the following day. There was also another guest in the same situation as me.
Feeling betrayed I showed them proof of paid booking receipt. They kept denying then then blamed expedia but the other guest booked through korean booking app and he has the same problem.
After 30 mins of heated conversation (standing as no room for waiting at reception) and demanding my money back, they gave me a room.
Room was the worst stay. Everything was sticky, smells of cigarette, heater was not functioning, dusty shelves/desks.
I felt cheated and thankgod it was only one night stay.

Very convenient location with free parking
While space is limited throughout hotel especially in rooms, to stay for a couple of nights is ok. Good location which is close to train metro. Families wanting to stay should be aware that the hotel seems to be more for a couple's staycation rather than family but the room cost is really value for money.

Good for the price
Pretty typical Korean hotel, in my experience. Stayed here for four nights. The price was good and located almost equidistant between Apgujeong and Sinsa subway stations. However our room smelled kind of reminiscent of smoke, and at night I could definitely tell other guests were smoking in their rooms—the hallway reeked of smoke. One day when we came back, I thought someone may have been smoking in our bathroom, but it could've been the vent. The bedding looked a little old and had some stains on it, and the room was a little dusty. We asked the front desk for another large-size bath towel and they wouldn't provide one, but there were plenty of smaller-sized towels in the room. Anyway, we were mostly just looking for a place to sleep since we were out all day anyway, so this was sufficient.

The hotel has a weird scent. The hotel is very dark and the staff didn't clean my room the 5 days I stayed there I had to ask them to clean it.

No Air-conditioning
Hotel hid the remote for the air-conditioning and will not allow us to use it. They said they only let the guests use it during summer time but it is already hot and we don't feel comfortable in the room! Hotel shouldn't be making decisions like that. Regardless of what the weather is the description shows that there is air-conditioning so there must be air-conditioning!

Cheap hotel at a good location
Location is excellent, plenty of good food nearby. Very close to Garosu-gil. Rooms are not really that clean but can do for short stays. Rooms are quite spacious and hv good layout. Hotel room service is fast and staff are friendly.

Well priced hotel in good location
Ideally placed for travellers looking to spend time around Gangnam, Apgujeong and Sinsa-dong, Highland Hotel is a decent little hotel for those without a massive budget.
The rooms aren't huge, and the view isn't great - but they are clean, with a spacious wet room, air con and wifi. I tend to use hotel rooms as a base to recharge while I spend most of my time out and about and this was perfect for that.
If you're not used to travelling in East Asia the size of the room and the hardness of the bed may disappoint, but it's to be expected in places like this and I don't think should be seen as a minus point.

Location is great but the room was dull of dust. It feels more like a motel rather than hotel. Staff at the reception was not really friendly. I pick the places based on the hospitality. I do not think I will recommend it to anyone.

Hotel located in a great area Staff is friendly.
I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Highland. It was very comfortable and a great price. I only left to visit more areas further away. The staff was very friendly, but very quite, which made the hotel feel very welcoming. The only downside is the stairs in front of the building make it hard to lift luggage. But there is an elevator once you are inside and at the front desk.

Cozy, warm room!
I enjoyed it very much, but the stairs walking up to the front desk was painful. The employee at the front desk was very sweet and helped me carry up some of my luggage to the elevator. I hope one day they remodel the front, so there's a ramp instead of stairs, it would be easier for guests with luggage or handicaps.

Good, cheap, comfortable and good location
Ratings based on the star rating of the hotel. I.e compared to a 5 star hotel the scores would be lower but within its own star class it's a very good hotel.
