The building is quite new and very nice. (It's also in a new part of town, so not a ton of stuff walking distance was open as of this writing.)
The front desk was busy when I arrived, absolutely packed when I walked past later, and was bewildered by my bill when I checked out. Perhaps these are just growing pains.
Could not for the life of me find a room service menu in my room. Called down for one, waited a half an hour, and gave up to try the restaurant.
My server was great. She saw the sandwich the chefs had made for me, decided it was too small, and ordered them back to make another one. Took forever, but I appreciate her sticking up for the guest. The food was tasty when it arrived.
Another superlative employee was the concierge who was as good as any concierge at any hotel I've stayed at in the world.
Overall, a polarizing experience. But I'd give them another shot if I ever come back through Xining again.
