I stayed for one week in November here and had a mixed experience.
Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the building was clean and had a small but nice interior. Location is perfect for visiting pyramids and the sphinx and the hotel will arrange tours to other locations (but much more expensive than booking via Expedia).
The roof bar/restaurant, Heaven Lounge, has a fantastic view of the pyramids and cheap prices. The food was typically v good though I had one really terrible meal here one night (I ate here most evenings during my stay). The free breakfast is excellent and the morning staff, led by the charismatic ‘Ali Baba’ were great. Evening service was mixed, sometimes good, sometimes really poor. I enjoyed watching the cats that would come into the restaurant from neighbouring rooftop bars but if you don’t like cats be warned they were there a lot.
My room was very basic but clean (I was given room 105). However, the window faced directly onto the building next door with only about a 1-2ft gap so I had no daylight (let alone view!). Fine for me as I spent most of my time on the roof bar or out sightseeing but a bit gloomy when in the room.
There was also a lot of noise all through the night from the fridge in the room, the toilet (which would refill the tank by itself often), the air con and the nearby elevator.
There was a TV and safe in the room but both were broken.
The immediate area is touristy, mostly gift shops and other hotels. Expect to be hassled.
