This was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve had in over 25 years of travel. I booked online as usual and once I arrived I provided my identification and additional credit card for a security deposit.
After their machine could not accept my physical Apple Card that I use at every other hotel, I gave the gentleman my Amex card and ask him what was the security deposit amount. After asking several times, all I got was “we won’t charge your card.” I was reminded check out is at 11am.
After checking in, my room was clean and was ok for the stay but had a small odor in the room. It wasn’t overwhelming so I dealt with it as it seemed to subside with time.
As we were informed the work on our heater at home was repaired, we returned home to complete some other work and planned to return to the hotel later that night. We ended up staying at home. We knew check out was let until 11 so anything left at the hotel we would get and then check out.
As I approach the door with my key a woman is mopping at the door, she has been in the room long enough to clean the entire room and bathroom and was completely done with the room meaning she was in the room at 9 am with the check out time not until 11 on a room paid for until that time. As I tried to converse she spoke no English.
At the front desk I called a number and Jasmine came to the desk, Jasmine informed me she runs the place and was gaslighting my concerns trying to convince me this is the norm! To be cont.
