Best stay for cherry blossom views from you room!
Old school fancy hotel. It has a beautiful garden. Our room was lovely, overlooking the gardens with prime views of the sea of clouds ( mist piped in to give an ethereal feel to the cherry blossom trees) Loved the kaiseki dinner at Miyuki and unagi (eel lunch). The dinner afternoon tea had thick cuts of roast beef and mashed potatoes, served with a glass of bubbly. Japanese set breakfast comes with a thimble size glass of juice and no coffee. The buffet is horrible- presentation is ugly, the cheese was sliced orange American cheese, only dried out croissants and dried out muffins. Some small pieces of white bread. Only mushy wet scrambled eggs or hard boiled eggs. They will make you an omelette but no other egg style. Very limited and sloppy. You eat in a dark party room with no windows. Regular coffee- no cappuccino etc. It’s like a cheap business hotel level. Fortunately the venue for the set western breakfast was better with a choice of egg and plated beautifully. The service was so nice and amenities are nice too. The pool and spa, also lovely.
