This property looks like it is probably an older convention center. While it is a bit old and tired, it is a beautiful old hotel that is still quite stately. My room was well cleaned and the bed was comfortable. The young woman at check-in was very friendly and personable, as was the young man at checkout the next morning. I'm really confused at the terrible reviews this older hotel gets. My room was $55 for the night with a king size bed. I felt completely safe and secure both in the hotel and in the parking lot. Yes, the breakfast is your basic carb load breakfast, but do you really expect to get a full hot breakfast with inexpensive rooms like this? Profit has to be made somewhere. I would rather spend the money on the less expensive room and pull up to McDonald's less than a mile away to get a hot breakfast. As for the complaints of not wanting people to take breakfast up to the room, I get that. I can imagine the mess some people make in the rooms and then it can draw bugs and ants. If you want a hot breakfast that you can take on the tray up to your room, Holiday inn down the road is still available for $129 a night. And honestly, I think the people that say they don't "feel safe" here probably look down their noses at the customers that need a lower priced hotel. This is the first time I've stayed at this hotel, and I would not hesitate to come back. It's an affordable price, and saves me money for other things I would like to do in Omaha.
