We had an excellent stay. Hotel was clean and staff were very helpful. The view from our room was unbelievable. According to where your room is you may need to take stairs, as the historic design was maintained. Not an issue for us, but may be for others. Complimentary shuttles in and out of the town center were convenient too.

There was no one with a sign to meet us, as promised. The pool does not match the photos on website. Our “ocean view” was blocked by a (easily removed ) bush. We had to request a clean blanket for the sofa bed. Most of the front desk staff was friendly and helpful and the shuttle drivers especially nice.

Highly Recommend Zane Grey Pueblo Hotel

Perfect boutique hotel with great ocean views from the Queen suite. Spacious and modern room. Staff is very friendly and they have courtesy golf cart shuttle service to and from town. It’s an easy walk downhill to town.

The view we paid extra for was a little obstructed by some bushes and the hot water only stayed warm for literally 5 minutes, which really sucked and also made it kind of hard to bathe a toddler. My husband and I had a really great time at this property! It was just close enough to all the shops and restaurants to get there within minutes on the golf cart transportation but up in the hill far away enough to feel like a private getaway! We stayed in a King Oceanview room and it was one of the biggest rooms I had ever stayed in for a beach or port city hotel! This was our first time on Catalina Island, and in Avalon city and staying here made us want come back ASAP! Lucy, the manager and the rest of the staff was very attentive, kind, and responsive! We will definitely be returning, hopefully sooner than later!

The property has stunning views of Catalina. The staff is helpful, kind and attentive. We had a great time chatting with the cart service which give fast pick up and drop off to downtown. Like other reviewers have said the facilities have some quirks. The handle to open one of our windows were broken but we managed to open them with another handle from a different room. For the price of the room, cleanliness, views and staff we would definitely return.
