At first we were given a room which was quite small, even for NYC, a little beat up, although bathroom was updated nicely. It was a little dark, one small/average window, not much room to walk around the end of the bed, paint was splotchy, missing a light fixture on one side of the bed. So we got another room which was MUCH better, cleaner, bigger, better for the price we were paying during December. Then didn't have hot water for the shower. We figured use was high, but hey, it should still have hot water. We mentioned it and all was fine the next 2 days. Bed was VERY comfortable, although I would recommend a 3rd pillow since they squished down quite a bit, but overall comfortable.
Take note: it's a great location if you want to be a block west of Times Square, but next to a fire station and constant sirens going off, hey it's NYC! If you want quieter, stay farther away from Times Square. Staff was very friendly, with the exception of only one or 2, but no big deal, the others made up for it. Overall stay was fine, great location to the action and noisy overnight, maybe like afternoon to maybe 2am. Elevators are small and it can take a bit to catch to go back down from your room. It took us nearly 20 minutes or more to catch the elevator when we checked out. Much too long. If we didn't have all our luggage we would've taken the stairs since only on the 6th floor.
