NOISY
This is a charming hotel but our room faced directly onto Alvarado and that was a PROBLEM. It was extremely loud at 7pm and I told the front desk we were not comfortable. We are 60, not 22 so we were miserable because their windows are vintage so there is no soundproofing. The noise from the bars and restaurants lasted until 2 am. I doubt we will go back because it is too noisy.

Nice downtown location
The staff was excellent. We had a wedding to attend at The Barns at Cooper Molera, which is a pleasant 4 min walk. It is super close to restaurants & other popular locations. Overnight parking is available across the street at the parking garage (no charge for Sunday and Monday). It's a nice historical hotel that could use some updating, but the room was clean overall. The walls are thin; we literally heard our neighbor's entire conversation at 7 am. If you are a light sleeper like myself, I would not suggest having a room on Alvarado St. (the main street). The windows in the hotel room are thin! You will hear every car, motorcycle, people's conversation, and so on. Especially with a bar up that street. We would book again but in a room location with less outside noise.

This hotel has a great location, right in the heart of downtown. It is an older hotel, so if you love historical buildings you will probably appreciate this hotel. I loved it! The bed was comfortable, and the shower was perfect. They offer a very light breakfast in the morning, but with so many great options nearby, we had no plans to "fill up" on hotel breakfast.
