Almost filthy.
The property is located off a main highway. It’s old and needs a serious deep clean. There was food in our wardrobe, the curtains were stained, backs of the doors had something (food?) on them, and there was mould growing on the windows. The reception team was very understanding and comped breakfast, which was appreciated, but sadly I cannot recommend a stay here.

Great base from which to experience Oxford
We loved the Holt and will certainly be back. The beds are bit firmer than we like, but that's a matter of taste. Everything else was picture perfect - Samuel behind the bar is knowledgeable and friendly, and the restaurant food is exquisite!

A nice stay
My girlfriend and I have stayed at the Holt Hotel a number of times before - we love the cosy ambience, friendly staff and very nice breakfast. The location is excellent being on the doorstep of several nice towns in the Costwolds, as well as Bicester Village and Blenheim Palace. This stay was no different (in a good way) in all of those respects. Nice to see the hotel now has an EV charger available to guests, though I daresay in the longer term there will be a need for more than just one. Given 4/5 stars because the restaurant was not open on Sun 29th Dec evening, and we were hoping to have dinner there - this is unfortunately not the first time this has happened, occurred on previous stays too. There should really be a message emailed in advance to inform the hotel guests should the restaurant be closed on nights they are planning to stay, and a note put on the website (which I checked earlier that day, there was nothing mentioned). Still, we will almost certainly be back :)

We had a good stay at the hotel. The place is going through a refurb at the moment and after our first room didn’t quite meet expectations, the promptly moved us to the new part of the hotel that was lovely. The evening meal and breakfast were excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Location was spot on
The hotel was a perfect location and the room was clean & spacious. Great parking and easy to find. The food at the hotel was ok, my fish and chips was sadly lacking fish & a taste. However my better half had pork shoulder that she really enjoyed. My own problem was the doors to the room never cut out any noise. The door slamming though out the night in the opposite room, over & over again. The loud talking in the corridor outside our room well into the early hours.
