Comfortable stay at hotel MONday Kyoto Marutamachi
Family of 4 with 2 teenagers stayed 3 nights. Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. Hotel is in a good spot so close to subway only 3 stops from central Kyoto, Family Mart maybe 50 metres walk. Very short walk to Kyoto Gyoen National Garden. Room was nice but a bit tight for 4 people, we managed but you would need two rooms if staying for longer than 3 nights.

The hotel was in a great location, near Kyoto Imperial Palace, and offers a very convenient daily shuttle to Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and one other place that I forgot to take note of, because we didn’t go there. Enjoyed our stay, it was right next to the metro/subway station which was very convenient. Hotel offered luggage transport service which was very helpful. Best hotel we stayed at in Japan. Very spacious and love the free shuttle to golden pavilion and bamboo forest. Everyone working there is super friendly and very helpful. The shower and bathroom are nice as well. Will definitely stay here again when we are in Kyoto

It's a cute, cozy, no frills but modern-looking hotel with great customer service. Stayed for two nights and met our expectations. Close to a great ramen shop, a great coffee shop/bakery, and other convenient stores. It's a little further out of the way, but is still close to the metro stations. There is an elevator access to the Marutamachi station further up and across the street (look for entrance #5).
