Only one elevator available to service my floor (18). Front desk staff not friendly or accommodating at all. I had issues with multiple charges and credit card pre authorizations that rendered my card useless. So I had to use a different payment method and call my bank to rectify and reconcile charges. While dealing with front desk issues the guy next to me was losing his mind over a very similar issue. So it must be their process that’s the issue.
I also didn’t know the rate you book can change when you arrive at the hotel. I thought since I had screen shots of the original rate per night assuming that they would honour that rate. Nope. Basically I was told by hotel front desk and by hotels.com customer “service” that I was out of luck. Rates are subject to change so I had to pay $100 more per night.
After checking out they said I couldn’t leave until they did an inventory check and I was told to wait 30 minutes. I’ve never had to do that before. I’m a single business traveller. It’s not like I had a huge party in my room and trashed the place. I’ll never use this app or stay at an Embassy suites ever again. Overall a disappointing experience. The place was decent, clean enough I guess. It could use a refresh as everything about the hotel is tired.
