I re-booked my stay, cancelling a prior Hotels com booking do I could pay booking in full. When I arrived clerk (possibly the owner) advised that both reservations were cancelled by Hotels.com and advised me to contact Hotels com. Due to location, I had no service. I requested wifi so I can contact H.com but clerk refused to help. I asked for wifi 3 times.No help. I asked if he could call them. No help. I offered my Itinerary #, so he could look it up and read off number to make sure he had the right info. He still stated both reservations showed as cancelled. Finally, my son called Choice headquarters to complain. At that point, he began to help us and asked for Itinerary #. He said he found the paid booking. He allowed us to proceed with booking but under the condition that we end our call and complaint with Choice hotels. This incident caused us an hour of our time at 10:00 PM, loosing sleep time. When he finally proceeded with booking, it took another 10 minutes for him to take my security deposit, so he can write notes in his system. He even was about to help another customer, when I interceded. Blatant incompetence. Lack of empathy. Horrible social skills. Only helped to save his own skin from corporate backlash.
