We’ll go somewhere else in the gorge next time…
We had a wonderful check-in experience with Hunter, who was very helpful and friendly. However, we were disappointed to learn that the indoor pool and outdoor hot tub were unavailable, as those were one of the main reasons for our stay. Hunter tried to make it right by offering us a refund for the resort fee or complimentary breakfasts, and access to the indoor hot tub and sauna until 6 PM. We quickly changed and headed to the spa, only to be told by a very rude spa manager that the facilities were for spa guests only. Frustrated, I called Hunter to let him know, and he apologized, explaining he was under the impression all guests could use it. He assured us he would address the issue with the spa manager.
Later, we decided to sit by the outdoor fire, but the chairs were soaked since it wasn’t under cover. Moving on, we went to the bar for a drink, but service was slow the entire time. Our drinks and water ran out, drinks took a while to get to us and it took a while to get out check. We and other guests asked multiple times to have the football game turned on, but nothing happened, and some people ended up leaving, including us.
The next morning, we discovered they don’t offer the buffet-style brunch in the winter, which was disappointing, although the breakfast we had was still good. Overall, we weren’t very happy with our stay, though the bed was incredibly comfortable.
