I'll just start by saying that I've traveled the world and I've never encountered service this bad. DO NOT STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
I arrived close to midnight at Grateley train station and quickly realized transportation was limited. My phone was about to die and I was having trouble connecting to any taxi companies, so I called the hotel. The employee that answered was extremely annoyed that I was calling so late and told me he was sleeping. I explained that I was a guest at the hotel and asked if he could call a taxi for me, as I was having trouble connecting calls. He just said, "Mate, it doesn't work like that." I was shocked. I was literally going to have to spend the night at the train station or walk 2.5 hours on pitch black rural roads with my luggage. I essentially pleaded with him to simply make a phone call for me to have a taxi pick me up. I certainly wasn't asking him to pay for it. After several minutes of arguing and pleading, he reluctantly agreed to call a taxi, which thankfully showed up.
Think about this. Your hotel is annoyed that you call them for assistance because you are stranded, and upon learning you are stranded, they're perfectly OK with letting you sleep at a train station because they can't be bothered to make a phone call. This hotel should be shut down, as they seem to be confused about what it means to be in the business of hospitality.
Again, and I cannot stress it enough, DO NOT STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
