I chose this hotel because I’ve stayed at Aloft properties before and had great experiences. However, this location seemed older and less nice than others.
I was delayed and arrived at approximately 2:15 AM on Thursday, February 6, 2025. Upon check-in, a security guard assisted another guest at the front desk. When it was my turn, he informed me that my reservation had been canceled due to a Hotels.com policy of needing to check in before 2 am. I was shocked that I had received no notification from Hotels.com. Fortunately, the security guard was friendly and helpful and was able to secure me a room.
One of the main reasons I selected this hotel was the indoor pool. However, upon walking to my room, I saw that the pool was closed (see attached photo), and there had been no prior notification. I would have appreciated better communication from the hotel regarding this closure, primarily through Hotels.com.
Overall, while the staff was helpful, the experience was disappointing due to the reservation issue and lack of communication about amenities. I hope the hotel improves its coordination with booking platforms to avoid similar problems for future guests.
