Clean rooms. Clean restrooms although separate and shared. Clean shower. Hallqays wete quiet during quiet hours. Neighbors were respectful All around good stay. Would stay again and recommend.

Checked in online and was provided door code and room code. The room was nice and clean, the shared bathrooms were kind of a mess. Overall, I would stay again.

The room itself was fine for what it was, though for someone expecting a hostel there are no amenities or shared areas to speak of outside of bathrooms. The huge red flag came when attempting to access the place. La Ventana came up with a surprise cleaning fee as I was going to check in (a “system glitch”, they said) and refused to allow access until it was paid over the phone (outside of the booking site). This clearly violated CA law (all fees must be upfront) and may have amounted to extortion. Hotels.com promised to speak with La Ventana but it has been a couple of weeks and there is no sign of support for the customer. The gaslight district is a lively place and SD is beautiful, but the price of La Ventana wasn’t worth the hassle.

Our stay at La Ventana was incredible! We loved how everything was clean and they provided great amenities. The location of the stay was also a plus, as it is in the center of everything within walking distance.

pro. Close to convention center, and bars and restaurants. Has microwave and nice refrigerator. No manual for the air conditioning, stop working some time Con: noisy, restricted to 4pm check in , anxious to wait to get the entry code and room code. Phone call has no answer, only receiving messages sporadically. The cover in bed is dark colored and feel real cheap and thin. Paid average of $240 is a bit too high.

We were given a room where the bed collapsed and the mattress sunk into the hole with me in it. There are no private toilets or showers and no parking. You have to park on the street, if you can even find close parking, especially on a holiday weekend with a major event. I have shared pictures with management at least in every message (10). They have not responded to the pictures. We want a full refund for 2 nights as we had to find other safer accommodations for Saturday night. NEVER WOULD I STAY THERE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND IT TO MY WORST ENEMY!!!!!

Everything was just walking distance and it seem like it was just me at the whole build no lines. I enjoyed that and the rules where easy to follow. Definitely will book again. I love the Sports bar infront, Barleymash.
