The block hotel is situated on the mezzanine floor in the south terminal at Gatwick Airport. To reach the block you can either go up the escalators to the mezzanine or there is a lift which can be found to the rear of the hall near the toilets.
The block Hotel is somewhere where we have stayed before. Last time we stayed in one of their small rooms, however at this time, because of an offer, I took one of their executive rooms.
The executive double room is a reasonable size and has a window looking out onto the airport. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the form of a coffee maker which, once I worked out how to work it, worked well. The hotel itself is perfectly located for early morning flights, in that, you do not have to worry about getting Transport to the airport first thing in the morning. The hotel is situated near to Wetherspoons and a giraffe restaurant which again is handy for a meal before you turn in for the night.
The main Issue about this room is the shower area which is very similar to having a shower on a train. The shower and toilet share the same area meaning that, because of the design of the floor, you can get a puddle around the toilet. We had to dry the floor after we had had a shower so that we did not get our feet wet in the night if we went to use the toilet. The room itself is high-tech with a flat panel which you touch to work the air-conditioning and the lighting. In the past I have criticised this Hotel for its lack of accessibility
