If they have a good snow base, and occasionally get new snow, it probably one of the best places to snow ski in the country. Plenty of shopping, dining, and accommodations.

Vail is a lovely walkable town. We stayed in July. A free bus runs around town & our hotel the Arabelle also ran special car service to any location in the town. All in all fantastic stay, the hikes are great on the mountain & spectacular views!

Vail has lots of great outdoors to offer. Being close to I 70 makes it convenient, but too close to the highway to be my favorite Colorado spot.

Too bad there aren't more actual towns to stay in around Vail. The entire environment is overly automobile oriented / non-pedestrian.

Beautiful area. Love the Bavarian style of the town. We didn't shop too much but seems there is a lot to do.

It's beautiful and very cool, but the parking is a nightmare and it's pretty expensive.

The best town for vacationing, a lot of fun stuff to do. Great hiking trails.
"The front desk clerks were very friendly and helpful. The room was quiet, clean and nicely decorated. The lobby was beautiful with a great area for hanging with friends and nice outdoor space."
"It is so fun to stay at a place that feels “old school” in the best ways but with modern amenities. Each room is different. The hotel is quaint and about as close to visiting Austria as you can while sitting in Colorado. "
