The Stanyan Park hotel is a historical monument, right across from Golden Gate Park, a beautiful park. The hotel seems freshly updated and was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was nothing special but was well stocked and organized. Front desk helpful and friendy. We walked over to Golden Gate Park in the evening, and it was quiet but felt very safe, with bikers and joggers keeping us company along JFK Drive. We watched a holiday light show projected onto the Conservatory of Flowers, which will be a special memory, since we are the only ones watching it in a still area of the park! No homeless encampments to be found anywhere nearby. We strolled on Haight Street which was lively and full of shops, few empty storefronts. Lots of unique restaurant choices. The neighborhood is full of gorgeous Victorians.
A beautiful stay in a beautiful city
