One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in my life. Friendly, super, super clean, accommodating. Check in was a breeze. I had a private room but would definitely stay in a dorm next time. In fact I asked but they were full.

Stayed one night here, after 2 nights at the nearby Hotel Parnass. Parnass was much less expensive and a better value. Had a much larger room at Banhof, but unlike Parnass there was no free breakfast (Parnass has a large and excellent breakfast buffet). Also, my shower had a slow drain and very quickly was standing in a couple of inches of water while showering. Otherwise, very comfortable and convenient. Right across the street from the train station, which was especially nice as I left Zermatt the next morning.

Note that there is not early check in and staff isn't there 12-2 but there is somewhere to stash luggage. You couldn't get closer to train terminal - super convenient, also right next to great pizza place and the Gornergrat train. Room was extremely basic but honestly better than expected for a single room to fit 4 adults. Did the trick.

We would recommend the Hotel Bahnhof! Obviously very close to the train station which is helpful. Our room was very clean (double room with private bathroom). So great you could store luggage before check in and after check out. We liked that you could use the kitchen to save some money. Would stay here again for sure!
