It was a great location for the basketball game at the Spectrum center. That is its selling point for sure.
It is definitely overpriced for the room and amenities though. I paid over $300 to stay one night because of the $40 fee for parking on top of the room fee. The room itself was more like a 2 star hotel. First of all, when I pulled my comforter back on the bed, there was a big long hair right in the middle of the bed. The sheets were wrinkled like someone had taken a little nap in it and then covered it back up. It was so late that I did not try to get new sheets. I went to bed with sweats and a hoodie on and hoped for the best. I was exhausted. Next, the bathroom towels were tiny, the toilet roll holder was broken and there was wall paper peeling off the wall in the bathroom. Also, the rooms are not soundproof at all.We got to hear all the partying around us like we were part of it. They do give ear plugs which should have been a sign of how noisy it was going to be.
The women at the front desk were very kind at checkout. The guy that checked us in seemed a little put out with me though because I asked about the $50 "amenity fee" that they add to the bill. My bad. Another reason I didn't complain about the sheets. I didn't want his ire again.
All in all, I'll not pay to stay there again. I go to Charlotte quite a bit and have stayed in several of the hotels around the Spectrum center. This one is NOT worth the money, I promise.
