We had a warm welcome from the owner, and the apartment we stayed in was a good size, with a separate bedroom and living/kitchen area. The apartment is above a garage (separate to the rest of the hostel) and below the owners living area.
The kitchen was mostly well equipped, with a microwave, oven, hob, filter coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine, plenty of crockery and pans. However, there is no kettle (we used a pan to boil water on the hob) and it was woefully short on cutlery, having only two forks and three knives. And we only found these in the morning after our first night when we checked in the dishwasher (which hadn't been on from the previous tenants.)
We visited in a cold week in May and found the apartment was warm on the first evening (after we turned the thermostat up from 0 to 20) but the next morning there was no hot water and no heating. After asking the owner about it, she discovered the boiler had packed in. It was working again two days later, but it turns out that there is no heating overnight or in the mornings anyway!
Plenty of hot water (when the boiler was working) but I'd recommend bringing an electric heater if you're staying in the colder months.
