A lovely slice of Yorkshire
The accommodation was as described. It was a comfy and clean room. We had a very friendly greeting that included a slice of homemade cake. We had the opportunity to sit outside in the evening, and first thing in the morning, admiring the views. Our breakfast was great, including the vegetarian option.

Staying at a working was lovely. Truly local produce, so much home-made stuff. Even a slice of home-made cake on the coffee tray to welcome. Really unique. Dinner was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend.

For Peace and Tranquility Stay Here
This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay with a fantastic host based in Hawnby. Lovely breakfast cooked to order. We stayed in the Carthouse converted barn with sheep in a small field next to it. Had a small patio area with amazing views of the fields and wooded valleys surrounding the farm. Very peaceful area an hour from the coast. Went for a walk right of the farm down the hill to the main road. The walk was 3 miles round trip and took an hour. The walk back was very hilly. Preferably drive right out of the farm on a hilly one track road which is 2 minutes to the main road, unless you don't mind driving very hilly winding single track roads if you turn left out of the farm.
The bedroom in the Carthouse. One double and one single but also another 2 fold out beds. Sleeps 2 adults and 3 children.
Sheep beside the Carthouse. There are 4 tups (male sheep) that mostly eat and snore when sleeping but it's very sweet.

Refreshing stay with peace and quite away from everything else. This experience was one of the best during our road trip across UK. Sara was a great host and was understanding though we missed the instructions on breakfast timings. It turned out to be a nice farm stay where my 11 year old daughter spent time playing with the cats, pea hen, and dogs instead of doing screen time or complaining about not being with her friends. Tips: Download Google map offline, have an early dinner before you get there so that you still have daylight to enjoy the views. There's a hotel/ restaurant about 10 mins away. Recommended overall.

Nice Stay overall.
Great peaceful location, very tranquil. Just a few things worth noting ; 1. Bath only, no shower in bathroom. I do like a bath but, especially in hot weather, a shower is essential. 2. No TV in room. Not an avid TV watcher but again, as the property is quite remote, a TV would be an asset. Also, Towels were quite thin and board like, would have appreciated fluffy ones in a 4 Star establishment. A nice place to stay, especially if the above points are not important to you.
