I recently stayed at Hotel 1868 and had a mixed experience. The hotel itself was nice and clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, which made a positive impression from the start. However, the room I stayed in left much to be desired.
While the common areas of the hotel were well-maintained, my room area rug felt outdated and didn’t quite match the cleanliness of the room. It seemed like it could benefit from some deep cleaning or be replaced.
One of the most frustrating aspects was the noise. The room was located right in front of the elevator, and unfortunately, the noise from the elevator was constant. On top of that, I could hear every step from the floor above and the sounds from the neighboring room, making it difficult to relax or sleep soundly. The lack of soundproofing was a real downside.
Overall, while the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel were great, the room I stayed in wasn’t up to par. I would suggest requesting a room away from the elevator and possibly on a higher floor to minimize noise issues. Hopefully, the hotel will consider cleaning or replacing the area rug of the rooms to match the level of service they offer.
