We loved our two night stay at Raudafell Guest House! It's set up more like a bed and breakfast with shared bathrooms, kitchen, living space, and breakfast (pancakes, yogurt, toast, ham, hard boiled eggs, etc.) included. There was an issue with our booking that we realized the day of and so I called the hotel to see if they accommodate our request. Heida was so great and moved things around to allow my friend and I to have two beds instead of one, which we REALLY appreciated. We moved some of the furniture around to fit our needs, but we were able to get around with two of us and a lot of luggage. Heida lives just across the street and is the one that owns, takes care of the guest house, and makes breakfast. She was helpful with information about the culture and the surrounding area. The house was updated and clean, very comfortable to stay in! Free parking and wifi. Only two bathrooms for about 7 rooms, but we didn't have any issues with access to them due to people getting up and leaving at different times. Just a few minutes from Skogafoss Waterfall, which was one of the things that we wanted to see. This is the perfect place if you want to see the sites on the southeastern part of Iceland! I would go back there if I ever returned to Iceland.
