The hotel was very beautifully decorated at first sight, and the breakfast was amazing. However, once you start paying attention to the finer details, I don’t feel the 4-star hotel, as per official website, was met. 1) we got a king size bed, Japanese style (no frame), but we uncovered that it was made with three twin size mattresses horizontally put together. I toss a lot while I sleep so they definitely started separating through the night. 2) the safe was not nailed to the shelf and took two full days before it was fixed. Note, they tried putting us into another room but that safe was also not screwed into the shelf. I’m sure it broke overtime with other guests but I don’t feel that it’s right it took so long for it to be fixed. A staff tried to help us fix it with a screw driver without a handle. We needed an electric drill since the original screw hole was too large, but she said they didn’t have any, and she did not know where the handle went. 3) it was a lovely area, but the location was quite inconvenient. I didn’t really see a lot of restaurants and it’s about a 10 minute walk to the station. However, the hotel in general I think it’s a bit cheaper compared to others, so I think that was a bit expected. 4) it’s my first hotel with coin laundry available. It’s a low rise hotel but there were quite a few suites, but only 3 machines. Every night there seems to be a lineup to use. Otherwise, the room was sizeable and very clean. Staff in general was quite responsive.
