Need to ban smoking at the resort!!
Basically the resort is very nice. We loved where our room was located and the food choices were good. However, my biggest disappointment and complaint (we spoke to the management several times about this) was the smoking that was allowed in the entrances to the resort. Coming from the rooms, there is only one way to enter the resort. There were many signs posted for NO SMOKING and there was even special area set aside out of the mainstream for the smokers. However, EVERY time we were trying to enter the main facility, there was a pack of smokers standing there blocking the entrance smoking. Also, the smoke drifted into the main lobby and made it unusable. We heard several other patrons complaining about the smoking. I have a sever allergy to smoke and this was very distressing. I couldn't go anywhere without my inhaler for fear of an asthma attack due to the smokers. When we brought this to the attention of the management, their response was "well they are outside and the smokers have right too!" This was unacceptable!
Nothing was ever done to ask them to move or to deter the smokers from smoking anywhere they wanted to. We will never return to a RIU property because of this issue.
