Changed our hotel without prior knowledge
I booked this property as it was close to my relatives house which we were visiting. They switched our room to another hotel which our knowledge which was 40 minutes away. If I had known early I would have canceled and rebooked with another hotel. They claim to have informed me multiple times but they didn't. No call or email or message. The only way I knew was I called to reserve a crib and they told me the hotel was switched. The night before I was traveling with a two year old and an infant. I do appreciate that they covered the expenses of the other hotel and still provided free parking and breakfast, but it was not a good thing for us.

Beware of Fraudulent Operations at Cambridge Suites! I am compelled to share my disheartening experience with Cambridge Suites to warn future guests about their deceitful practices. Despite booking and paying four months in advance, I discovered upon arrival that I had no booking. Allegedly, an email was sent to me two weeks prior to confirm a transfer to a different hotel due to an "operational overbooking," but I never received such a message. When I reached out to guest services, they suggested that I check my spam folder. It is interesting to note that Cambridge Suites is aware of the issue with their emails ending up in spam and yet continues to communicate critical changes through personal email rather than using the Expedia portal, which still showed my original booking as active! This misleading practice left me scrambling for accommodation upon arrival. The alternative hotel had mold, was undergoing renovations, and lacked the amenities I had considered crucial. Instead of the 2-bedroom suite I had originally booked, I was given a single studio and four adults had to share one bathroom. There was no offer of a partial refund or an additional room to compensate for the downgrade. Instead, I was made to feel fortunate to even have a room. My short trip was consumed by futile attempts to reach management and I can't find a high-level contact on the internet to submit a formal complaint. I will be complaining to BBB and the Ontario Consumer Protection Agency.

Beware this hotel! I made a reservation back in February and the hotel sends me an email less than 24 hours before my stay telling me that they are sending me to a different hotel. They sent me to a room that is a downgrade and have the audacity to tell me that they’re not going to charge me anything extra. I called the hotel and they couldn’t understand why I was upset about this change and then they told me that I need to be patient with the process. Check their ratings on other websites. They have done this many times before to many other customers. Do not book this hotel.

Absolute nightmare. Booked for 2 nights, months in advance. Advised about 3 wks prior to stay they were over booked BUT not to worry as they were making arrangements for the same room type (2 bedroom suite) & same rate at a nearby hotel and they would contact us by a given date with new property info. That email never arrived. There began the FARCE of trying to contact anyone at this place to help. The so called manager was never “on the property”, no matter the day or time I called. No one could tell me what the manager’s schedule was or when I could reach her however I was also told she would not return my call. The final straw was being told (2 days prior to our stay) that a room had been secured but that the manager hadn’t left the information for the staff, so they’d have to get back to me. This was untrue and no one got back to me. After being told there was no one else I could speak to and no head office, I Googled their parent company. From there I ended up speaking with the owner’s personal secretary, who had the company operations manager contact me. Suffice it to say, my situation was resolved, to my satisfaction, by another hotel in the group, (who could not have been more gracious), once I got in touch with people who actually cared about customer service and wanted to make good on a promise made by one of their employees. I think even they were shocked by the level avoidance, gaslighting and ghosting. Appalling! Book here at your own peril.
